Pack Policy
- Uniform. All Cub Scouts and Registered
Leaders shall be in uniform at all scout functions. Pack
419 does not require the official uniform pants, but Scouts must wear neat,
dark colored pants or shorts. In the summer, Scouts may wear the T-shirt of their rank or a
Cub Scout Day Camp T-shirt with solid colored shorts. Directions to the Metro Atlanta
Scout Stores.
- Sports/Academic Awards. While
earning any of the sports/academic awards, the Scout should know the safety
guidelines and rules of that award. Forms for Sports / academic Pins and
Letters must be submitted to the Award / Advancement Coordinator (via the
Den Leader). A limit of only one (1) belt loop and/or pin per sport/academic
will be awarded. Sport belt loops may be earned when participating in a
sport on a community team or as a Scout activity. Only One belt loop / Pin
will be awarded to each child.
- Den Literature. To assist new Den Leaders in establishing a good program,
they will be provided with the following materials: Cub Scout Leader Book,
Program Helps and “Scout Records” forms. All of these materials belong
to the Pack, and are to be returned in good condition. The Pack Library is
available to all Adult Leaders. If the Pack Library does not contain the
material a Den Leader need, the DL may request the purchase through the Pack
Committee.
-
Money-earning Projects/Incentives. Money-earning projects must be to
benefit the Pack as a whole. Incentives are allowed but must be approved by
the Pack Committee.
-
Pocket Knives. Bears and Webelos may earn a Whittling Chip. They may use
a pocketknife with possession of a “whittling chip” and under the
supervision of an adult. Boys may not carry knives on their persons except
during a designated Den meeting and / or Pack activity (i.e., Pack camping).
Scouts are never to bring pocketknives to school - for any
reason.
