Each Den is full of plenty of fun and unique things to do. Also, there are special programs, that are not Den specific or are for new scouts that did not go thru the Tiger program. The Tiger Den The Tiger program is for boys who are in the first grade and an adult partner. The boy and his adult partner form a Tiger Cub Team. A Tiger Cub den is made up of 6 to 10 teams. Adult partners take turns leading Den meetings with the help of a Tiger Cub coach. The Wolf Den The Wolf program is for boys who are in the second grade. Wolf Cub Scouts meet as dens of 6 to 9 boys with one or two Den leaders. Boys work on activities both in their Dens and with their families. The Bear Den The Bear program is for boys who are in the third grade. Bear Cub Scouts meet as dens of 5 to 8 boys with one or two Den leaders. At this stage the boys start to work more as members of a structured team. The Webelos Den The Webelos program is the first step in a boy's transition towards a Boy Scout troop. It is usually a two year program, but the requirements can be completed in one year for boys who join while in the 5th grade. The boys will work on complex projects that are age appropriate. This program is a bridge from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. Families still have an important role, but the emphasis shifts from the home centered activities of Cub Scouts to group centered activities similar to Boy Scouts. |
